Historically, the Foundation has focused its efforts on raising monies to fund Nicasio School’s Enrichment Program (i.e. Art, Performing Arts, Foreign Language and P.E.) and typically has raised about $50,000 a year from parent donations, community donations, an annual fundraising event, Walkathon, e-Scrip, and United Markets schools program. The Foundation is now expanding its role to seek additional funding to offset the dramatically rising costs for the school's Supplemental Instructional Programs for our English Language Learners and its Exceptional Needs Instructional Program. To meet our much larger funding needs, the Foundation is now pursuing grants from outside charitable organizations.

In October 2015 we received $681.86 from School Rules, and in December 2015, we were fortunate to receive $2000 from the Bill Graham foundation and $2000 from the West Marin Fund.

2015-16 Grant & Expenses

For the 2015-2016 school year, Nicasio School Foundation (NSF) was able to execute a grant of $50,350 to Nicasio School to fund the school's valuable enrichment classes, classroom materials and supplies, student council and year-end fieldtrips.  NSF also targets raising some additional funds to cover any unanticipated expenses during the school year.

2014-2015 Fundraising YTD

Last year, NSF received $71,815 through direct donations, grants and fundraising events to support Nicasio School. We were able to meet the school’s grant request for the 2015-16 school year and, with your help, we hope to keep all these wonderful programs in place for our children for 2016-17. In addition to community outreach programs and events, NSF is actively investigating grants and the establishment of an endowment to continue our mission for generations to come.  Moving forward, our fundraising goal for the 2016-2017 school year is $60,000 which includes costs for all recurring programs.
