


WHAT IS THE FAMILY GIVING CAMPAIGN?
Each year, the Nicasio School District faces a large financial gap that threatens the quality of our childrens’ education. The Family Giving Campaign helps close this $50,000+ gap to ensure academic excellence. While the recently passed Parcel Tax addresses serious funding deficiencies in core programs it does not fund the enrichment programs that make a Nicasio School education exceptional and well-rounded. Art, Music, Drama, Spanish, PE and other "extras" are still funded, ENTIRELY, by fundraising through the Nicasio School Foundation. Only with your support can our children benefit from programs that the State of California considers “frills” and no longer supports. Your financial contributions enable Nicasio School to provide exceptional instruction in Art, Music, P.E., and Foreign Language.
The Nicasio School Foundation is the volunteer parent group that organizes the various activities to generate donations to the school. For the past two years, NSF has granted $56,000 and $50,000 to the school for enrichment programs. These totals equate to about $1,000 spent per student per year for enrichment. This year, NSF must raise $54,000 to keep our enrichment programs going.
To meet our fundraising goals for 2009/2010, a contribution of $650 per student from school parents is requested, but no donation is too large or too small. Our hope is that every family at the school will be able to make the maximum donation their family can afford. We need every family to participate in this effort.
